How the LeadLab Growth Series Works

The LeadLab Growth Series unfolds over six months, providing Adventist leaders a journey of learning, practice, reflection, and growth. It combines structured sessions with ongoing peer learning and personal application.

The learning process has three strands woven together

  • LeadLab Sessions

Using a combination of face-to-face and online sessions, the LeadLab Growth Series provides new ideas, new colleagues, and new practice.

  • Learning Groups

Weekly peer groups formed at Launch that journey together for six months, providing encouragement, accountability, and insight.

  • The LeadLab Network

Participants have access to all recorded sessions, as well as additional resources to deepen learning and sustain growth.

The 4 parts of the LeadLab Growth Series Journey

1. The LeadLab Launch

4 days (typically face-to-face)

Leaders begin their journey with an intensive experience in a field-selected location. Over four days, participants engage deeply in spiritual reflection, interactive sessions, and shared experiences that forge bonds of trust. During the LeadLab Launch, participants form learning groups that become their companions throughout the journey. This gathering is often described as a profound spiritual and experiential milestone.

2. Weekly Online Sessions

10-12 weeks

For the next three months, participants meet for 90-minute online sessions focused on key leadership topics. Each session includes personal and group reflection, encouraging participants to experiment with new ways of thinking and leading. Alongside these sessions, learning groups meet weekly for peer support and accountability.

3. Application & Multiplication

10 – 12 weeks

The second half of the journey shifts from receiving to giving. Participants choose one key idea they have learned and teach it, share it, or apply it with leaders in their sphere of influence—family, workplace, congregation, or organization. This intentional multiplication turns growth into action. Each participant prepares a reflective report on what they learned through this process.

4. LeadLab Forward

4 days (typically face-to-face)

The journey culminates in another four-day intensive. Participants return to present their multiplication projects, reflect on their growth, and discern God’s leading for the future. This is often experienced as a profound time of renewal and recommitment, marked by peer coaching, shared learning, and spiritual breakthrough.

An Intentional Journey

The Growth Series begins with high involvement from the LeadLab team at the Launch. As the process unfolds, responsibility shifts: the LeadLab team’s direct role lessens, while participants take greater ownership. By the time of the LeadLab Forward, participants themselves are the key players, shaping one another’s growth through peer learning, reflection, and testimony.

This intentional design ensures that leaders don’t just attend a program but experience a journey that forms character, builds capacity, and multiplies mission.
